As an event planner with over 20 years of experience, what are the key factors to running a successful event?

Daphne: To run a successful event, it’s crucial first to understand the objectives and desired outcomes, aligning them with the organization’s goals. This involves comprehensive planning, including detailed timelines, budgets, and contingency plans, to ensure all aspects of the event are meticulously organized and executed. Additionally, prioritizing audience engagement throughout the event, through interactive elements and personalized experiences, is essential for creating memorable and impactful experiences that leave a lasting impression on attendees.

In light of your transition from large-scale event planning in corporate settings to the agile landscape of Pulse Innovates, how do you perceive the evolution of events and their impact on businesses?

Daphne: As someone who has witnessed the evolution of events firsthand, I believe that the landscape has undergone significant transformation, particularly with the advent of social media. Today, events serve as powerful tools for branding and publicity, with organizations leveraging platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok and LinkedIn to create buzz and engage audiences even before the event takes place. Additionally, the power of word-of-mouth marketing and personal invitations cannot be understated, as they help foster a sense of exclusivity and excitement surrounding the event. Furthermore, the importance of curating the right attendee list cannot be overstated, as it provides opportunities for meaningful networking and collaboration, ultimately driving business growth and success. Transitioning from an operational role in big corporations and associations to a young startup is a significant decision. What were some of the key factors that influenced your decision to make this transition, and what challenges did you encounter during this process?

Daphne: My transition from a corporate role to launching a startup was driven by a desire to leverage my experience and pursue my passion projects while achieving a better work-life balance. However, the journey was not without challenges. From securing funding to navigating the uncertainties of entrepreneurship, we faced numerous obstacles. In the past, I tended to react emotionally to challenges. However, through self-reflection and personal growth, I’ve learned to approach each obstacle with a calm and rational mindset. Instead of allowing emotions to dictate my responses, I now engage in introspection and deliberate problem-solving, analyzing the situation from various angles before taking action. This shift in perspective has enabled me to navigate difficulties with greater clarity and resilience, ensuring that I tackle each challenge with a calm and composed manner.

What are your thoughts on marketing technologies, and does your company implement any technologies to enhance efficiency?

Daphne: Marketing technologies have rapidly evolved, shifting from traditional to data-driven approaches.
